Itinerary
FRIDAY Depart your hometown for a flight to New York City. Upon arrival, you will be whisked off by town car through the hustle and bustle of this world famous city to the very southern tip of Manhattan Island. The most romantic setting in the whole city, your view of the Statue of Liberty, the surrounding bridges, river and out to sea is set off each evening with the most spectacular sunsets imaginable. Your luxury residence for the next two nights will be at the Ritz Carlton, the ultimate pampering experience. Start the festivities with afternoon tea in the terrace restaurant and bar overlooking your first sunset. As the guests arrive throughout the evening, this makes a dramatic and refreshing meeting point.
SATURDAY After breakfast, take a stroll down Wall Street and marvel at the magnificently columned stock exchange. Gaze up at the towering skyscrapers overhead, in contrast to the historical churches and ornate architecture built by the first settlers to the United States. Perhaps enjoy brunch at Gigino’s Italian restaurant on the banks of the Hudson River with a seat outside in the sunshine and an iced Prosecco cocktail. You can relax and take your time with your preparations, your wedding will take place in the early evening to ensure you make the most of the magical sunset.
At around 4.30pm, you may board the yacht and chill out in your specially decorated bridal suite to add the finishing touches as your guests and groom board the boat. You will be in awe at the magnificence of this historical sailboat, nearly a hundred years old. Gleaming teak decks, masts, billowing sails and brass trimmings capture the romance of your special day perfectly. Staffed by a professional crew dressed to the nines in formal whites and the ship’s captain who is licensed to officiate your vows, you will be in safe hands.
After a short 20-minute sail to the Statue of Liberty, the yacht will drop anchor in the location where your ceremony will take place. You may choose your own vows, or use the poetic vows written by Captain Pat. After you are officially pronounced husband and wife, your crew will manoeuvre the yacht in front of the Statue of Liberty for photos with a breathtaking backdrop. Then the fun begins, waiters and waitresses will appear with cocktails and canapés as you mingle with guests and enjoy a 2-hour cruise around the island. Once the sun has set and your yacht is back in harbor, you have New York City at your feet and a myriad of dining and nightlife options into the early hours if you so choose. The comfort of your luxury room awaits when the party finally comes to an end.
SUNDAY A final breakfast at the Ritz and then a chance to create some more memories of New York, perhaps take in the view from the top of the Empire State Building or the new observation deck at the Rockefeller Center. Enjoy an open top bus tour of all the most spectacular sights, escorting you right up to Central Park, where you could enjoy a peaceful lunch on the lake. In the afternoon, it is time for your flight home, that is unless you would prefer to take a flight to the Caribbean – just 3 hours away for the honeymoon of a lifetime. There are also direct flights to Paris, Italy or even Africa – the world is at your feet. Honeymoon or not, your wedding aboard a yacht will live up to all of your romantic expectations and will be remembered by family and friends for years to come.
